Position HighlightsThe Asthma/Airway Disease Research Center invites applications for the position of Research Program Administration Officer III. The successful candidate will manage the operational aspects of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB), reporting directly to the DSMB Chair and Co-Chairs. They will represent the University in working with the CF foundation and other CF agencies and will develop Data Safety Monitoring Boards for the Therapeutics Development Networks for CF clinical research trials. The position will collaborate with the CF/TDN leadership on strategic planning, making recommendations regarding staffing, operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, processes that impact the CF Foundation and all Data Safety Monitoring Boards. The Research Program Administration Officer III will also supervise DSMB Staff and facilitate the hiring process for new employees, and provide guidance to employees, colleagues, and sponsors. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Represent the University in working with the CF foundation and other CF agencies and develop Data Safety Monitoring Boards for the Therapeutics Development Networks for CF clinical research trials. Collaborate with the CF/TDN leadership on strategic planning, making recommendations regarding staffing, operations, financial reporting, and process improvements in overseeing the 35 to 50 clinical trials each year.
  • Develop and implement policies. Develop and implement a Quality Management Plan, analyzing results and provide solutions for process improvement recommendations.
  • Create training documents, operational manuals, and procedure documents for all CFF DSMB members. Supervise DSMB staff, overseeing workload, performance, and training. Provide guidance to employees, colleagues, and sponsors within the United States as well as internationally regarding all aspects of CFF DSMB and TDN.
  • Develops, monitors and oversees all financial activities including purchasing, invoicing, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Develop, coordinate and monitor the development of additional DSMB projects to include timelines, budgets and resources needed/required. Direct and manage the renewal and reporting activities for the CFF DSMB grant.
  • Serve as main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, information collaboration and provide detailed reports to CF/TDN leadership and Data Monitoring Committees. Speak at the biennial DSMB meeting/conference on relevant operational, financial and project specific developments. Attend DSMB CME training, TDN training meetings and the North American CF conference.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Cystic Fibrosis Data Safety Monitoring Board.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Trials in Cystic Fibrosis.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
