JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

is seeking a candidate for a Research Technologist to collect and organize data for the use in reports and other presentations. Maintain and order supplies/equipment as needed for the lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Apply standard scientific practices, techniques, and methods as appropriate for specific situation, correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow protocols through a series of related detailed steps or processes

Contribute to experiments/tests in the laboratory/field to test, prove, or modify theoretical propositions on basis of research findings and experiences of others researching in related technical areas; may include measurements and recording of observations, collecting, compiling and processing of data

Organize data/findings for use in technical reports, documents, or oral/written presentations

May coordinate operational activities in a research laboratory, providing support services to researchers and technicians

Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for lab operations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the laboratory

Coordinate ordering, maintaining appropriate inventory, storage, and maintenance of supplies, lab ware, and instruments essential to the operation of the lab

Instruct others in protocols and instrumentation

May supervise lower level staff, wage employees and/or students

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of re-funding.

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled as a level 1 or 2, depending upon the successful candidate\'s competencies, education, and experience. Typical requirements for a level 1 includes a Bachelor\'s degree or higher plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
