The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Med - Nephrology, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Researcher II to join their team.

General Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, to set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals. To collect, enter and summarize data. To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing and managing rodent colonies, including husbandry and genotyping. Performs a range of assays including electrolyte analysis, immunoassay's, mRNA isolation and various PCR methods.

Assists in experiments that evaluate renal function in rodents.

Maintains laboratory records and data management, as needed.

Helps teach and assist students, fellows and collaborating faculty in laboratory methodology.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

:

$15.50-$17.00

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in related field OR Associate's degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience required.

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

Bachelor's in Public Health, Biology, Sociology, etc. Preferred skills include previous experience with managing animal colonies, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
