This position starts at $12.80 per hour.
If you are interested in the health care field, this is a great position to start in. The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for a full time Resident Aide to assist on Dack 2 and Dack 4. Scheduled hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm including every other weekend.

As a Resident Aide, you will help residents by changing sheets, making bed, refill water pictures, refill treatment bucket, put away clean laundry. Duties also include assisting with passing meal trays and assisting during meal time. Provides support and physical assistance to residents by participating/initiating additional activities such as playing cards, table games, reading, crafts, writing letters for residents and taking residents for walks or outside for fresh air by wheelchair. Escorts or participates with resident activities, writing letters for residents, taking residents for walks along with other assigned duties.

Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS\'s) new vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (published on November 5, 2021 and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court on January 13, 2022), all potential employees of this facility must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of a primary series or a single dose vaccine OR have an approved religious or medical exemption (as determined by the Iowa Veterans Home) OR have documentation reflecting a temporary delay in vaccination (as determined by the agency in accordance with CDC allowances), prior to the start date. Candidates shall coordinate with agency staff to ensure all requirements are met before the individual provides any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its residents.
