Job Description


Residency Program Coordinator

The principal responsibility of Residency Program Coordinator is to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the residency program for medical residents in training under the guidance of the Program Director. Duties and responsibilities may include directing or performing the following:

  • Develop and administer annual work schedule for residents for the academic cycle.
  • Develop, administer, and coordinate clinical rotations and on-call schedules for residents.
  • Coordinate and administer annual academic curriculum.
  • Ensure program compliance with institutional requirements, Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and specialty board accreditation requirements.
  • Deliver all major communications pertaining to the training program to trainees, faculty, and departmental staff.
  • Attend at least 1 required academic conference per year.
  • Oversee licensure, verification of training, and credentialing process for trainees.
  • Monitor and report trainee duty hours to ensure compliance.
  • Confidentially maintain critical files and information.
  • Manage and maintain computer information systems for collecting/storing program data, generating reports, and other critical documentation.
  • Administer and maintain program compliance with performance evaluations for trainees, teaching faculty, and training experiences.
  • Work closely with Program Director in problem resolution and resident guidance.

  • Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively and listen. Use of a computer.
  • Environmental: Standard Office Environment.
Experience:
  • Required: 12 months of responsible administrative experience.
Education:
  • Required: Associate\'s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or related field.
  • Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 24 months of related experience in lieu of Associate\'s Degree, for a total of 36 months experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of institutional program requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply RRC common and specialty program requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn and operate MedHub Residency Management System.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in stressful situations and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
