Restaurant Greeter
Job Purpose
Responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner, escorting guests to tables, monitoring guest needs, maintaining control of dining room, handling phone calls ranging from daily reservations, event inquiries and takeout orders. Assist co-workers in offering the best experiences possible to restaurant guests, supporting the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly greet guests.
- Using Guest Seat properly document the group.
- Maintain Control of the dining room
- Manage wait lists and wait times appropriately.
- Manage reservations and walk-ins appropriately, offer Guests a seat at the bar or knuckle if needed to give kitchen time to get caught up when busy.
- Follow Steps of Service for host
- Promote the Osthoff Resorts service principle by example; respond to/resolve Guest inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a courteous, timely and efficient manner. Make sure to inform Restaurant Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader of problems.
- Communicate with server and busser to assure efficient seating, and customer service.
- Assist servers as needed with delivering food/drinks.
- Assist Busser with anything as needed.
- Smile while engaging with guests, never say \xe2\x80\x9cI don\xe2\x80\x99t know\xe2\x80\x9d, instead say \xe2\x80\x9cLet me go find someone who can help or know the answer.\xe2\x80\x9d
- Assist in the checklists at the beginning/end of each shift with the team.
- Including polishing, cleaning, prepping
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Restaurant Manager or immediate supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong customer/ guest service skills
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor toward others.
- Ability to take care of the customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs while following company procedures.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with self-motivation.
- Must be able to have a positive attitude with the willingness to go above and beyond what is expected. Possess great time management skills, with the ability to think on the spot.
- Must possess a positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment.
- Must have flexibility in time to meet the business needs of the department and the Organization.
