Salary: $53,976.00/Annually

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate activities on sales floor of retail store by performing the following duties:

  • Shift responsibilities of closing at least 3 evenings.
  • Responsible for smooth operation of sales floor.
  • Purchase merchandise to be sold in the gift shop.
  • Maintain adequate merchandise levels within corporate guidelines.
  • Evaluate space allocations for retail items.
  • Assign duties to workers and schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations.
  • Train workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties.
  • Order supplies and equipment.
  • Record delivery of merchandise, compares records with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
  • Inspect merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.
  • Recommend additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in department.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports.
Listen to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. * Assist sales workers in completing difficult sales.
  • Sell merchandise
  • Audit cash receipts as per company policy.
  • Plan store layout or merchandising retail manager and general manager.

Education/Experience:
  • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Ethic:
  • The individual must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment where project priorities, task deadlines, and assignments can change quickly and with little notice.
  • The individual must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision while working within the guidelines set by their supervisors.
Language Ability:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Guest Service Decision Making Level :
  • Management level including engaging guest, respond to concerns, product exchange, returns, refunds, non-standard discounts, employee sales, marked out of stock, and escalating to Manager as needed.
  • Product price adjustment.
