JOB OPPORTUNITY

The City of Berkeley is seeking candidates with a commitment to public service to join our Finance Department as a Revenue Development Specialist! In this role, you will identify and collect for non-payment and underpayment of taxes and revenues, correct tax misallocations and revenue discrepancies, enforce lease agreements, and conduct audits of parking lot operators and hotels.

The Revenue Development Specialist I is an entry-level role performing simple to moderate audits, while the Revenue Development Specialist II independently performs the full range of revenue audits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Possession of a bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or a closely related field, and experience as outlined below:

Revenue Development Specialist I: One (1) year of professional experience in auditing, collections, or business account investigation.

Revenue Development Specialist II: Two (2) years of professional auditing experience, preferably in a governmental setting. Two years conducting public sector revenue audits is highly desirable.
