AB&R seeks an experienced Solutions Consultant responsible for achieving budgeted sales within the RFID solution offerings, including pre- and post-sales implementation. The role involves technical expertise, customer engagement, and strategic leadership. The Solutions Consultant will provide technical guidance on RFID hardware and software, manage customer interactions, and ensure the successful delivery of comprehensive RFID solutions. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a mix of technical proficiency in RFID solutions, experience with customer-facing roles, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams. The role is geared toward a professional who can implement and configure solutions and act as a strategic advisor to clients while keeping up with the latest developments in RFID technology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Discovery and Engagement:
Lead RFID discovery sessions, conduct on-site surveys, and collaborate on creating comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW). Function as a trusted advisor to customers.
Technical Leadership:
Assist in selecting and configuring RFID system components to meet customer needs. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for AB&Rs RFID solutions, providing training and recommendations.
Consulting and Solution Design:
Design and implement RFID solutions based on deep knowledge of hardware, software, and data integration. Recommend and adapt solutions for optimal performance.
Research and Innovation:
Stay current on RFID technology developments and integrate emerging technologies into AB&Rs offerings.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with internal teams such as engineers, managers, and sales to deliver seamless solutions and customer experiences.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Consulting and Software Experience:
3-5 years of experience with enterprise software sales, especially within the supply chain industry, focusing on software configuration and customization.
Technical Expertise:
+ Hands-on experience with RFID hardware, software, data integration, and system workflows.
+ Experience with SQL/non-SQL databases, data storage, persistence, and caching.
Sales Support:
Experience responding to RFI/RFQ requests, proposals, customer assessments, and creating SOWs.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead presentations, create detailed documentation, and interact effectively with senior-level executives.
Problem-solving skills:
Ability to assist teams in resolving complex technical issues.
Documentation Skills:
Proficiency in writing clear documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and sales materials.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience in manufacturing, transportation, logistics, or wholesale distribution is beneficial.
Team Collaboration:
Ability to work as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
A strong technical background coupled with creativity.
Experience with technical product training, new product evaluations, and creating sales tools for the sales team.
Expertise in gathering and evaluating user feedback and implementing improvements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor (B.A./B.S.) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, advanced technical education from a recognized program, or demonstrated specialized knowledge and equivalent work experience.
