0.9 FTE, 36 hours/ week position, Day shift
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider required within 6 months of hire; (NRP recertification required every 2 years)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion (or equivalent AWHONN approved course) required within 6 months of hire (Not required if a Lactation RN) (FHM recertification required every 2 years)
  • American Heart Association ACLS required within 1 year of hire (Not required if a Lactation RN)
  • Competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing
  • Two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire
  • If Lactation RN: Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC)
  • Preferred: One year labor and delivery experience


Essential Job Functions:
  • Collects Comprehensive data pertinent to the patient\xe2\x80\x99s health or the situation (Assessment)
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
  • Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation
  • Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care)
  • Implements the identified plan of care
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment
  • Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
  • Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice
  • Evaluates one\xe2\x80\x99s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations
  • Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
  • Collaborates with patient, family and others in the conduct of nursing practice
  • Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice
  • Integrates research findings into practice
  • Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession
