We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Rehab department. This position is Part-Time Core, scheduled 24 hours per week and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package -or- a 13% pay differential in lieu of benefits. Location: Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The area boasts award-winning wineries, and, most importantly, warm, friendly people.

Responsibilities

Assist the Program Coordinator in teaching health and wellness principles through medically sound course offerings designed for referred and self-referred clients. The nurse is responsible for supervised exercise for patients with cardiac disease. The Cardiac Rehab Nurse exhibits competence, integrity and confidentiality with sensitive material. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse is responsible for teaching health and wellness principles through medically sound course offerings designed for referred cardiac patients. The nurse works in conjunction with the Exercise Physiologist supervising telemetry monitored patients during exercise, patient evaluations and discharges.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Graduate from accredited nursing school, BSN preferred

• Licensure/Certification:
• Current RN licensure in the State of Oregon.
• CPR Certification.
• ACLS certification preferred or obtainable with six months.
• CCRP certification preferred.

• Experience:
• Six months of nursing experience or successful completion of a nursing internship program is preferred.
• Three years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation or cardiac monitoring strongly desired.

• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Knowledge of adult learning needs/techniques.
• Ability to work within a comprehensive healthcare team.
• Ability to exhibit a high degree of diplomacy in dealing with all customers over the phone or in person.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, directors/managers, and physicians.
• Ability to multi-task without a loss of productivity; independent decision-making abilities.
• Ability to consult concerning participant management and arrange for qualified staffing coverage during absences.
