RN TRIAGE/OFFICE NURSE
ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) - Otolaryngology

Part-time, DAYs/PMs - BENEFIT ELIGIBLE. Will work 2-3 days/week

Location: Center for Health, 1200 S. York Rd, Elmhurst, IL

HOURS: This physician practice is open 6 days a week, Monday-Friday 7am-7pm. Saturdays, 7am-noon. The staff work 8-hour shifts.

This department has three providers that care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The scope of their care includes any conditions of the ear, nose or throat areas. They couple with Audiology, which is housed in the same office, to provide hearing tests for patients when required. Minor procedures are done in the office including the use of scopes to visualize these areas. The doctors diagnose conditions that need surgery and see pre and post-operative patients.

Duties include patient triage, both by phone and in person. Obtaining prior authorizations, rooming patients, setting up and assisting doctors with procedures, surgery scheduling, taking and returning patient phone calls, keeping logs up to date. Flexible to work with physician at an off- site office when needed.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the RN TRIAGE/OFFICE NURSE provides high quality nursing care for patients as identified by the standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSN preferred, Current Illinois RN licensure & Current CPR for Healthcare Providers
• Prior work experience in an ENT setting, highly preferred
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Self-starter, able to handle periods of high stress
• Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting/bending/reaching/climbing and repetitive use of hands
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry/push up to 20 lbs.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, both written & verbal
• Flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, evening and Saturday rotation
• Ability to travel to the Elmhurst and Oak Park clinic locations
