Responsibilities

The Pediatric Transport Nurse is a registered, licensed nurse in Washington and Oregon who, working collaboratively with the respiratory therapist, is responsible for the care and quality of care delivered to patients being transported to Randall Children\xe2\x80\x99s Hospital and other designated hospitals. The Pediatric Transport Nurse functions under the supervision of the Transport Medical Director, an attending physician, and approved institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines during inter-facility transport. The core values of teamwork, respect and caring, effective use of resources, and initiative are integrated comprehensively into the performance standards for the Pediatric Transport Nurse.

Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The Pediatric Transport Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health including those for patient assessment and transfer.

This position requires a minimum of every third weekend, with a possibility of an additional weekend shift as needed to balance the schedule. The position includes all shifts, 0630AM-07PM and 1030AM-11PM or 0630PM-0700AM. A holiday track is required.

Qualifications

Education: BSN required.

Experience: Three years of registered nursing neonatal and/or pediatric intensive care clinical experience within the last five years. May consider those with a combination of experience in adult ICU, dedicated Children\xe2\x80\x99s emergency department, and PICU or NICU setting. Experience in neonatal and/or pediatric transport preferred.

Other: Compliance with LFN / Children\xe2\x80\x99s Transport Weight for Height Policy (maximum 225 pounds fully outfitted to perform the job).

Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
