Summary:

Provides direct patient care, at a proficient level, using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Monitors the patient to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Responsibilities:

• Provides nursing care to a complex, diverse surgical patient population in a technologically complex environment.
• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including admission, planned surgery, discharge, transfer to higher level of care and any appropriate referrals. Assesses, monitors and communicates the patient condition to the appropriate provider, identifying changes in condition and potential or actual problems.
• Interviews, orients and assesses the patient, reviews patient\'s medical record and required documents to ensure all information consistent with the planned procedure and patient\'s confirmation, ensuring pre-requisites and preferences are met. Initiates education, discharge planning and intervention to optimize positive outcomes.
• Performs Intra-op Monitoring, communicating patient condition, and documenting all interventions and activities per standards of practice. Ensures safety checklists, interventions and procedures are implemented and documented as appropriate.
• Performs and documents pre/post procedure assessment/evaluation/education of patient. Responds to life threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years\' experience. Preferred: Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing.
• Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Preferred: ACLS, CNOR, CPAN or CAPA certifications.
• Credentials:

• Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support

• Minimum Experience: 6 months of Pre/Post-op/PACU/ Special Procedures or Circulating nurse (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.

The pay range for this position is: $33.08 - $51.27 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant\'s relevant experience.
