Harrison House of Georgetown is a 139-bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of Sussex County in Georgetown, Delaware. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\xc2\xb7 Documentation in nursing notes (nurses notes, physician order transcription, monthly completion infection control reports, completion of incident reports, monitor weekly skin rounds, bowel & bladder program evaluations, monitor feedings, fall prevention program effectiveness, weekly skin condition updates, weekly I & O notes, weekly wound care sheets, pharmacy review & corrections, monthly diabetic monitoring, diabetic foot care monitoring, employee evaluations, pain assessments/chart reviews)
\xc2\xb7 Documentation/responsibility for the following:
- 24-hour incident witness statements
- Psychotropic drug monitoring & dose reduction monitoring
- AIMS test due dates
- ADL documentation (meals, nourishments, BMs)
- Monitor medication room for expired drugs, dated insulin, etc.
- Monitor narcotic record/signature sheet
- Monitor med return for discharged residents
- Monitor compliance with admission paperwork
- Monitor crash cart
- Care plan updates & initiation as needed
- Functional care summaries for Medicaid residents
- Monitor restraints (weekly restraint notes, family authorization)
- Monitor/track immunizations & documentation
- Monitor splint compliance
- Submission of therapy screens as needed
- Creation/update of CNA assignments
\xc2\xb7 Monitor physician notification of lab reports, resident updates, weight loss, injuries, incidents, dietary change/alert reporting
\xc2\xb7 Residents continuity of care, pre/post shift reports, physician/family notification of change in condition, resident observation/evaluation rounds 2 x per shift, monitor scheduled appointments/follow up
\xc2\xb7 Report all narcotic discrepancies to Director of Nursing
\xc2\xb7 Ensure physician completes/signs required documentation, update physician on resident care issues, ensure accurate transcription of orders, serve as liaison for residents/family/physician issues
\xc2\xb7 Treatments, performance of all treatments as ordered by physician, treatment cart check
\xc2\xb7 Monitor and ensure cleanliness/organization of unit/equipment
\xc2\xb7 Enforce facility policies and procedures
\xc2\xb7 Supervision of aides/licensed staff on unit
\xc2\xb7 Rotation in on call schedule
\xc2\xb7 Monitor high risk residents, behavior documentation/side effects
\xc2\xb7 Maintain current education requirements in geriatrics or related topics
\xc2\xb7 All other duties as assigned by the DON/designee Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: RN licensure preferred,
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory exp. required. 2 years facility experience highly preferred
Industry: Healthcare
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
\xc2\xb7 Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak the English language
\xc2\xb7 Must be able to sit and stand for long periods at a time
\xc2\xb7 Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds
\xc2\xb7 Must possess a current unencumbered, active license to practice as RN
\xc2\xb7 Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
\xc2\xb7 Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices/procedures, as well as laws, regulations & guidelines that pertain to long term care
\xc2\xb7 Must possess leadership skills and supervisory ability
\xc2\xb7 Must possess the ability to relate information concerning resident condition
