36 Weekly Hours, Full time, Dayshift

Women\xe2\x80\x99s Center

Provides nursing care for the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patient; gynecological medical and surgical patient; plastic surgery patient and normal newborn. The staff consists of registered nurses, OB Technicians and unit secretaries. Services provided include fetal monitoring, a fetal monitoring surveillance system, ultrasound and phototherapy.

Job Summary:

A registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient (newborn to geriatrics depending on scope of care in the nursing department in which he/she works) assigned to his/her care. He/she is responsible for the co-ordination of direct and indirect care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and the policies and procedures of BHLAG. Responsibilities will commensurate with the education preparation and demonstrated competencies.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:

1. Active Kentucky License

2. BSN required except as noted:

• Individuals hired as a Staff RN prior to October 1, 2013 are grandfathered and exempt from additional BSN requirements.
• Individuals hired as a Staff RN with at least 10 years of Staff RN experience who don\xe2\x80\x99t hold a BSN will be required to either (a) obtain a BSN by enrolling in a program within one year of hire and completing within 5 years of employment or (b) obtain a specialty certification within one year of employment.
• Individuals hired as a Staff RN with less than 10 years of Staff RN experience who don\xe2\x80\x99t hold a BSN will be required to obtain a BSN by enrolling in a program within one year of hire and completing within 5 years of employment.

3. BCLS Required within 90 days of employment.

4. ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.

5. NRP will be required within six months of employment
