Liberty Locksmith of Pasco County LLC is searching for a Roadside Assistant & Mobile Battery Technician to serve Pasco and parts of the Hernando County area for 25 to 35 hours per week. The starting rate of pay is $16 per hour for the first 90 days. At 90 days, you will be eligible to receive a per call bonus for each call completed as well as consideration for a higher rate of pay. Tips are not guaranteed but
you will receive tips
if your level of service warrants them.

The right candidate will be able to pass a thorough drug and background screening and have a stellar driving record to drive our vehicle.
The right candidate will have experience in very basic automotive maintenance tasks such as locating jumpstart points on vehicles, proper attachment of jump cables/jump box, proper jack placement, removal and replacement of vehicle tires. These tasks are not difficult but failing to pay attention can cause costly mistakes.
We are looking to contract several 1099 contractors across a wide schedule so open availability is expected. We offer 24 hour service but focus on staffing between 7am and 11:59pm 7 days a week.
Responsibilities -
Provide lock-out, tire changes, battery jump starts and battery replacements using established guidelines and quality control procedures
Battery Technicians provide emergency mechanical assistance by selling, installing, testing, and performing other battery warranty services
Communicate with members effectively to keep them informed and to ensure their safety
Make sound decisions regarding the safe service of vehicles and to accommodate member needs
Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash and complete reports as required
Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, ensuring that all are in safe operating condition and that all requirements are met
Ensure that the service vehicle and all equipment are adequately secured at all times, including when the vehicle is not in use
Satisfactory pre-and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug and motor vehicle screening
Operate passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks (both manual and automatic transmissions) while primarily working from a service vehicle
Communicate effectively in writing, verbally, via email and using assigned technology such as GPS (Global Positioning Systems)
Successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire, and additional future department training as required

Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old
Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a stellar driving record and the ability to operate passenger vehicles and trucks with automatic and manual transmissions - decision to add a new contractor will be based on cost to add contractor to insurance along with other criteria. Any blemishes on driver's record will likely mean the new contactor will not be insurable and will be disqualified.
There is a physical aspect to the work. The job involves heavy lifting and continual use of hands and hand tools at a high pace.
Satisfactory pre-employment screening results, including criminal, drug and motor vehicle history screening
Must successfully complete required training courses within 60 days of hire
Ability to successfully complete any additional future department training as required

Knowledge and skills to perform various diagnostic tests, to recommend solutions and to sell and install batteries in various types of vehicles
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and using assigned technology
Ability to use hand tools to provide service in an efficient manner
Basic skills using email and GPS (Global Positioning Systems)
Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks while primarily working from a service vehicle
The ability to lift and carry equipment and batteries weighing up to 75 pounds; bending, kneeling and balancing to inspect vehicles and change tires and pushing vehicles on occasion.
Must have complete dexterity and fine/gross motor skills
Exposure to noise from traffic and two way radios on a daily basis
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a service technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair.
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
