Job Description


Have scheduling experience and love animals? Join our Safari Team as a Safari Administrative Supervisor! Utilize skills to schedule team members for a variety of positions and multiple areas. The safari season runs March-November with training starting in January.

Qualifications:

  • Previous scheduling experience required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products with an emphasis in Access and Excel. Must be able to learn other computer programs and websites as needed.
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and comprehend.
  • Must have strong puzzle solving and record keeping skills.
  • Must be a team player and treat co-workers, upper management, team members, and other departments with respect.
  • Must be willing to work up to 40 hours a week. Must have open availability including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable enforcing policy and conducting counseling sessions with team members.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative.
  • Must maintain a high level of organization.
  • Must be outgoing, upbeat, and friendly.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Create schedules in a timely manner for Safari Off Road Adventure including tour guides, station attendants, gate guards, interpreters, and drivers that utilize all available staff while maintaining optimal coverage for all areas.
  • Ensure all schedules are created with complete fairness and within necessary certifications.
  • Work closely with operations supervisors, education supervisors, and upper management in regard to team members\xe2\x80\x99 progression and certifications, and any scheduling related concerns.
  • Help maintain the training programs already set forth by tracking where each team member is and scheduling them for any additional needed training.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and proactively sign them up for training or relocate them to fill in the gaps.
  • Track all new and returning team members during their hiring or rehiring progress and communicate their training dates with them ensuring they know when and where to go.
  • Interface frequently with local departments and fellow labor optimization staff to share best practices, maximize the effectiveness of programs and utilization of staff and understand all departmental objectives.
  • Keep up with the SFGA Safari Admin group email.
  • Serve as a liaison between team members and the management team
  • Actively assist employees, answer questions, and bring up team member concerns to upper management.
  • Be familiar with and enforce all team member policies and grooming guidelines
  • Enforce company attendance policy by recording, documenting and communicating team member lateness, call outs, and no call no shows
  • Conduct coaching and counseling sessions with employees and ensure to document them directly into the Service Log.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding team members\xe2\x80\x99 personal information
  • Maintain an organized and tidy work environment, ensuring all forms, both electronic and physical, are filled out appropriately and correctly
  • Maintain and continually update organized filing and reporting systems.
  • Assist in execution of employee events.
  • Be familiar with what each Safari Off Road Adventure position entails.
  • Update PowerPoint training with new information as needed and present it to the team members when assigned.
  • May be required to cross train in other safari positions.
  • Keep area stocked with necessary daily documents.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership team in a timely manner. This includes notes regarding daily recaps, in the moment communication, sit down meetings, etc.
  • Work with operations supervisors to manage inventory for the area.
  • Work with operations supervisors regarding any maintenance needed and submit work orders as needed. Maintain communication regarding progress and follow up with departments as needed.
