Our client, a leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance engines, is seeking a Safety Engineer to join their team. As a Safety Engineer, you will be part of the Safety Department supporting various teams within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety engineering principles, with expertise in machinery safety and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities
Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in manufacturing processes.
Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs to mitigate risks.
Administer and communicate hazard control programs effectively.
Interpret and apply internal and external safety standards to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety requirements for machines and parts.
Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health & safety, including hazard and risk assessment, personal protective equipment, machine/equipment safety, and confined space entry.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, including knowledge of relevant local, state, provincial, national, and international safety regulations.
Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and their implementation to enhance safety performance.
Proficiency in risk management principles and system safety engineering techniques, including hazard analysis and hazard analysis tools.
Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
Holding machinery safety certifications is a plus.
Knowledge of machine/equipment risk assessment is highly advantageous.
Understanding safety functions of different types of machines is essential.
A 2 or 4-year degree in a related field is a plus.
