Job Title: Sales Apprentice The purpose of this position is to assist with daily sales activities while learning about our products, sales process, and company culture. This will be achieved by working closely with the sales manager and other departments to efficiently complete all steps of the sales process. The aim of this position is to learn the skills and knowledge needed to successfully transition into a full-time transit sales rep position. Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree required. Must also have (or be capable of obtaining) a Colorado Commercial Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License, Class C with passenger and air brake endorsements. Operation of Microsoft Office programs and Microsoft Office are imperative. Our industry is complex, and the ability to absorb and develop product knowledge is crucial to success. Having an attention for detail is a requirement. Being a self-starter is also a benefit. This position will work closely with the transit sales manager and sales administrators to learn and assist with daily transit sales responsibilities. This may include clerical work, maintaining our CRM and DMS systems, preparing items for tradeshows and assisting with local deliveries. This position is designed to expose the employee to as many aspects of Davey Coach as possible in preparation of them becoming a transit sales rep. Typical hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Some travel to our California and Indiana locations may be required as well as attending transit conferences across the country which could mean weekend travel (maybe once or twice per year). Transit sales are very different from retail sales. Transit vehicles are constructed specifically for each end user or transit agency \xe2\x80\x93 missing one simple option could be incredibly costly in the aftermarket. Transit bids and contracts are incredibly detailed. The transit sales process must adhere to meticulous standards, and the process takes years to perfect. The purpose of this position is to work closely with the Transit Manager to learn all the ins and outs of perfecting the bid and sales process. It takes a patient of person, with a strong engineering background to be successful at transit sales, and the purpose of this position is to get you in shape to thrive in the transit sales world. Proper lifting techniques required. \xc2\xb7 Setting up tradeshow booths (table cloths, banners, brochures, giveaways, etc.) Material and Equipment Directly Used: \xc2\xb7 Personal computer with Microsoft Office software applications. \xc2\xb7 Mouse and keyboard. \xc2\xb7 Software applications including diagramming, project management, and configuration tools. \xc2\xb7 Telephone headset (occasionally). \xc2\xb7 Facsimile (occasionally). \xc2\xb7 Multi-line telephone with voice mail. \xc2\xb7 Copy machine and printer. \xc2\xb7 Calculator. \xc2\xb7 Driving Vehicles. Our equipment must be driven to be shown.
