Sales Tax Manager

We are seeking to hire a talented, self-motivated Sales Tax Manager to support the Accounting & Finance Department. Responsibilities include sales tax management for Surya and subsidiaries, reconciling sales tax accounts, researching sales tax rules in each state, data analysis, filing sales tax returns and coordinating the filing of sales tax returns through software, monitoring the sales tax ticketing system, updating expired customer resale certificates, and supporting all sales tax matters. The ideal candidate will utilize their accounting, reporting, and communication skills to do extensive and accurate data entry, data review and communication, construct meaningful, actionable reports, and prepare Sales Tax & VAT reports for filing. The candidate must have a willingness to take initiative, immediately tackle key challenges, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and quickly adapt to change.



\xc2\xb7 Gather data to compile reports and follow up with internal & external customers as needed, audit for content and accuracy.

\xc2\xb7 Perform extensive data analysis and compilation.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare reports for filing of sales tax & excise tax returns and assist in gathering data and transmitting data for the filing of VAT returns.

\xc2\xb7 Manage and upkeep of Sales Tax Certificate data, track communications, and follow up to ensure compliance.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor multiple deadlines and ensure all filing or reporting deadlines are met.

\xc2\xb7 Reconcile balance sheet accounts.

\xc2\xb7 Complete other projects & duties as requested by management team.

Skills & Experience

\xc2\xb7 Previous sales tax experience preferred, not required

\xc2\xb7 Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel (logic and data functions, pivot tables, etc.); ability to learn new systems quickly

\xc2\xb7 Ability to compile reports, summarize, and present findings

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to multitask, and provide a high level of detail & accuracy

\xc2\xb7 Must have a continual sense of urgency to complete tasks on-time, if not early

\xc2\xb7 Must be willing to obtain a working knowledge of Sales Tax
