Completes operational and pre-operational cleaning, sanitization of the meat packaging and processing machines and work areas according United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations and ensuring quality standards are met and maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process. May include cleaning office areas and cleaning/sanitizing meat, produce, or cheese processing areas. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.Prepare machinery for cleaning, remove materials from the machines, tools and floors and place in the proper containers. Remove barrels, totes and other containers from the area, close valves, open doors, lids, drains and water valves. Breakdown, disassemble and / or loosen nuts, screws, remove machine parts, guardrails, lids, doors and guards. Scrape material from the machine parts, shovel excess into totes and soak parts as needed. Remove tubs of meat scrap with dolly to the trash dock as required.Obtain and apply the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing solution, apply foam to the surfaces, scrub surfaces and parts. Use the high- pressure hoses to clean and rinse the machine and parts, squeegee the floors and clear the floor drains.Dry tools, equipment, machines, walls, floors and re-assemble machinery as required.Maintain and abide by USDA regulations and standards as required.Assist Packers manually assemble boxes-cases as required.Perform scheduled maintenance duties and special projects in the Meat Pack area as assigned.
