JOB SUMMARY

Sanitation Technician is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing manufacturing equipment. Performs cleaning in accordance with established guidelines and specifications, and ensures equipment is operational for production runs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleans with industrial sanitation chemicals and equipment
• Preforms various tasks associated with cleaning and production machinery and general work area
• Operates machinery such as floor scrubber and/or forklift in effort to perform duties
• Prepares documentation outlining sanitation tasks performed
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, re-stock supplies, and equipment in work area

SCOPE

• No supervisory or managerial responsibility
• Normal responsibilities associated with monitoring and reporting everyday expenses

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School diploma or GED

Experience

• At least six months experience in a manufacturing environment
• Clean-in-Place (CIP) experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities

• General knowledge of machine operations, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing
• General knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and as well as safety and risk standards within a manufacturing environment
• General knowledge of cGMP systems for liquid and powder to secure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes
• General knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals
• Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
• Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions
• Ability to read and interpret written information.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Generally, the work environment is that of a fulfillment center or warehouse, specifically one that stores supplement or food products.
• May be required to work weekends, nights, or holidays as a regular part of the job.

• Continuously required to stand
• Occasionally required to walk or move from place to place
• Continuously required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Continuously required to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, or moving items
• Continually required to talk or hear
• Occasionally required to taste or smell
• Continuously work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must
• occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds
• frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• occasionally lift and /or move more than 55 pounds with assistance
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Travel is not required.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

• PPE may be required in certain areas as designated by OSHA
• Due to safety hazards certain items as defined by OSHA may be prohibited in certain areas
