Scale House Attendant
AT THE
Washington County Solid Waste
$19.21 PER HOUR DOE / PART TIME/ NO BENEFITS
Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, other shifts as needed
Preference may be given to someone willing to work at the transfer station in Central.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Authorizes public admittance into county landfill; collects, processes, deposits, reports, and reconciles money collected; monitors waste to ensure compliance with facility regulations.
Ensures appropriate admittance of all commercial and residential vehicles entering the landfill; Operates computerized scales to weigh and assess disposal fees for all commercial and residential vehicles; Performs verbal and visual verification to determine the presence of hazardous or unauthorized waste and help prevent it from entering the facility; Provides instructions to the public for proper disposal of various types of waste materials; Accepts material in accordance with the District policies, Washington County Health Department, and the Environmental Protection Agency;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One-year work experience in a retail field closely related to these duties.
- Possession of valid Utah driver\'s license.
- 40-hour Hazwoper certification in current status or ability to complete certificate within one year of hire.
- Must be bondable.
