Job Description


We are a high volume spine and orthopedic clinic with multiple practices in search of a positive, dependable, professional and highly-motivated medical scheduler. You must have excellent telephone etiquette and ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally with all callers. General Summary of Duties:

Schedule appointments for new and returning patients for all providers.

Accurately documenting the patient\'s chief complaints,

answering and directing calls, scheduling patient appointments and confirming appointments.

Ability to work with multiple EMR systems simultaneously.

Answer and route calls accordingly using multiple telephone line system.

Detailed data entry of new patient demographic and insurance/third-party payer information.

Confirm with the patient the time of their appointments on a daily basis.

Reschedule patient appointments when the provider schedule changes.

Set-up schedules in the computer for the individual providers within the clinic.

Prepping charts for clinic assuring all necessary info is provided for the physician.

Verification of health insurances using billing software.

Keep manager informed of potential scheduling problems.

Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy of protected health information. Follow HIPPA protocols.

Perform all other duties assigned.

Ability to transition and cover for different areas of the practice.

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum of six months of medical appointment scheduling experience.

Knowledge of PPO insurance.

Knowledge of orthopedic, spine and pain management terminology is a preferred, but not required.

Ability to meticulously document patient demographics, insurance information, et.

Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Typical Physical Demands:

Requires sitting for long periods of time.

Occasional bending, stretching or lifting up to 25 pounds.

Ability to hear a normal range of voice.
