We take into consideration an individual\'s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.1. Job Summary:The School Age Child Care Program Staff is responsible for assisting with planning, leading, and implementing recreational and creative experiences for school age children in a group setting. This position will operate at a specific school age site. The incumbent provides high quality recreational experiences for school age children that focus on the YMCA core values of caring, equity, honesty, respect and responsibility.2. Essential Functions:\xc2\xb7 Assist with the writing and implementation of weekly lesson plans.\xc2\xb7 Organize and lead a variety of activities appropriate for school age children. Activities may include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, enrichment activities, etc.\xc2\xb7 Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized.\xc2\xb7 Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily rosters, logbook documentation, and attendance records.\xc2\xb7 Assist in completing child and program evaluations.\xc2\xb7 Maintain employee requirements for Minnesota Department of Health and Safety (DHS) Certified Centers or Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DHS) Licensed Centers.\xc2\xb7 Maintain CACFP and Minnesota DHS or Wisconsin DCF regulations for meals and snacks, if applicable.3. Relationships:This position reports to the Site Director who reports to the Program Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with children, parents, and staff members from diverse backgrounds.4. Qualifications:Required:\xc2\xb7 Minimum age of 16 for MN locations or 18 for WI locations\xc2\xb7 Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR; First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 30 days.\xc2\xb7 Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.\xc2\xb7 MN or WI State background check and state fingerprints required upon hire.\xc2\xb7 Good skills in communication, organization, and human relations.\xc2\xb7 Willingness to work with diverse populationsPreferred:\xc2\xb7 Previous experience working with school age children.\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of DHS or DCF program requirements.5. Work Conditions:\xc2\xb7 Actively participate in youth games/activities which include getting in the water during swimming.\xc2\xb7 Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites.\xc2\xb7 Perform all physical aspects of the position, including moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.\xc2\xb7 Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.\xc2\xb7 Maintain supervision for prolonged periods of time which may include: swimming, outdoor activities, bus rides, field trips, etc.\xc2\xb7 May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the childcare environment.6.
