Job Description

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has 1 early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th \xe2\x80\x93 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Organizational: Directly responsible to the Director of Operations and / or his designee.

General Duties:

• To maintain and repair grounds as needed or assigned by the Director of Operations and/ or his designee.
• Specific Duties: To Maintain hand and electric tools.
• To use safety procedures when using tools and equipment on jobs.
• To plant trees, bushes, flowers and spread mulch to areas needed.
• To maintain school fields.
• To perform custodial work as assigned.
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or his designee.

Qalifications:

• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Must be in good health and able to perform all jobs assigned.
• Must be able to climb and adjust to heights.
• Must be able to understand written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to work harmoniously with others.
• Head Custodians and Crew Chiefs not eligible.
• Will be paid at the rate of pay of a night custodian.
