Experience Alaska Tours is seeking a friendly and outgoing professional to assist in everyday guest relations and tour schedules. This position requires a go-getter attitude and sharp time management skills. Our tour expeditors greet guests, ensure all guests participate in their assigned tour, load and unload guests according to a strict schedule, and secure vessels to/from the dock (including float planes and boats) upon arrival and departure. One of the more important parts of the job is helping ensure comfortable transportation for guests with mobility issues to and from the lodge. It will be your duty to retrieve and return guests in a van or utility terrain vehicle (UTV). Applicants must be 21+ with a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and have a valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and clean driving record to transport guests in company vehicles. The season runs from April to October with a seasonal bonus included if the contract is completed. After hours or on your day off, you will have access to fishing gear, kayaks, a personal-sized boat, and a campfire area! Your Role: As a tour expeditor at the George inlet job, you will, very literally, be the first member of staff most of our guests meet when they arrive at the lodge. You\xe2\x80\x99ll spend most of your work day greeting guests and coordinating with other staff over the radio to make sure that everyone gets where they need to be when they need to be there. Our tour expeditors also ensure that any guests with mobility concerns have a safe way to get to and from the lodge. Tour experience is *not* required! We provide in-depth training on coordinating groups, proper etiquette, and presentation skills here on site. Come ready to work and learn and we\xe2\x80\x99ll take care of the rest. Duties Include:
Inspect and ensure the safety and housekeeping of the docks and grounds.
Maintain a good knowledge of day-to-day timetable per the schedule and help keep all staff on track regarding timing and transportation.
Greet buses and vans and assist guests during loading and unloading of motor vehicles.
Catch or untie floatplanes and assist with loading and unloading of plane guests.
Catch or untie boats and assist with loading and unloading of boat guests.
Maintain radio contact with other key staff to promote tour excellence.
Maintain a friendly and bright atmosphere for all guests.
Requirements:
Valid Driver\'s Licence and clean driving record.
Must pass a drug test.
Comply with random DOT-required drug testing.
Background Check
Must be able to stand/walk for long periods without breaks. The lodge is a very active workplace, and you will get your steps in.
Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 25lbs.
Must have great time management skills.
Must be a team player, able to work and live with your coworkers.
