Sentara Health is hiring a Security Officer for Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA. This is a Flexi/PRN position with a rotating schedule.
As a Security Officer with Sentara, you will ensure a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. This position\'s primary duties include actively patrolling campuses and monitoring activity in and around buildings and responding appropriately to both routine and emergent situations. You will also document daily activities via computer, conduct investigations, evaluate situations, and take appropriate steps for resolution. Hours:
Monday through Friday, the Security staff works three shifts: 6am - 2:30pm, 2pm - 10:30pm, and 10pm - 6:30am.
Over the weekends, there may be a 12-hour and a 4-hour shift.
New hires are asked to be flexible to start and to move to a regular schedule.
Schedules are set to match the two-week pay period, with most Officers working part of their 40 hours on alternate weekends.
Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licensure: Valid Drivers License
Experience: One year of security experience; Former military, law enforcement, or security officer experience preferred; De-escalation and Physical Intervention training completed within 180 days of hire. Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) must be successfully obtained within 90 days of hire.
