Position Summary

The Senior Accountant under general direction, will be responsible for a wide variety of accounting, reporting, forecasting, analysis and account reconciliation responsibilities on a business unit-wide basis. This role focuses on supporting the planning and forecasting process and providing value-added analysis and recommendations to support business growth.

Principal Activities

  • Responsible to adhere to compliance requirements for applicable regulations, internal controls and Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and assist in the month-end closing process, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Review and summarize customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with the Company policy and ASC 606 accounting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated results and reports, including variance analysis to forecast and plan, and provide insights to Management
  • Prepare and Load annual budgets and monthly forecasts into the Forecasting / Analysis tool (Adaptive Insights) and Financial Consolidation system (SAP BPC) and provide in-depth analysis on financial performance and variances
  • Interpret results to make recommendations to management on improving business performance.
  • Work with and support project champions, leads or department and business leadership to provide financial and transactional information in support of strategic department or business unit-wide initiatives and projects as needed
  • Provide support to strategic corporate initiatives and projects: presentations, complex scenarios analyses, financial modeling, etc.
  • Identify and assist to drive FP&A related process improvements, and assist with analyzing processes and procedures to expose any information useful in improving operation efficiencies
  • Participate in and provide support for internal and external audits, which may include internal testing, providing documents for sampling and internal control process documentation
  • Other various duties as assigned, which may include but is not limited to, ad hoc reporting and analysis, supporting physical inventories, among others

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). IFRS knowledge also helpful.
  • Financial Statement preparation and interpretation, and understanding the interrelationships between Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows
  • Experience with journal entry preparation and General Ledger account reconciliations
  • Energetic self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to drive results
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong analysis skills
  • Proven experience in process improvement
  • Organized, patient, and self-motivated with good interpersonal skills suited to a fast paced, dynamic culture
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS tools and advanced in Excel
  • Strong experience with ERP systems

Education & Experience
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or similar field. CPA highly desirable.
  • 7 plus years of professional experience with an emphasis on financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting.
  • Experience in the area of manufacturing and knowledge of percentage of completion accounting.
