What We Need:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings - Operations team in Muscatine, IA!

Responsible for recording accounting transactions and reconciliations to ensure the company is maintaining accurate accounting records according to GAAP, SOX, and HNI policies and procedures. Instrumental in continuous process improvement in existing operations to optimize the financial network. Plays a critical role in the strategic and tactical direction in reducing costs, increasing efficiencies and achieving operational excellence. Research and sustain internal controls to ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulatory mandates.

What You Will Do:

• Prepare, review and file timely accounting statements to document & communicate company performance.
• Reconcile, research variances and analyze accounts including intercompany reconciliations and month end close.
• Record general ledger entries to accurately reflect the current position of the organization in compliance with GAAP.
• Forecast and monitor labor, production and internal/external spend to understand how they impact the financial results as well as educate and inform departments on cost implications.
• Drive and integrate projects/initiatives related to continuous improvement activities across finance/accounting function.
• Partner with diverse internal/external customer base.
• Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.

What You Have:

• 4 Year Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required: preferably in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting
• Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and professional certification preferred
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience or advancement through the HNI developmental program

• Proven ability to effectively communicate financial results to both technical and non-technical
• Ability to evaluate, select, and implement practical business solutions to improve processes.
• Strong technical project management skills with the ability to coordinate, manage, and ensure the success of initiatives.
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to own an initiative and drive successful results.
• Demonstrated ability to influence/persuade stakeholders to build consensus across all levels of the
• Demonstrated excellence in written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Understands and communicates with a diverse set of leaders and associates at various levels within various functional areas that impact the business.
• Understands the needs of internal and external customers, the business.
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with changing priorities and meet deadlines with quality output.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products and Oracle preferred.
