The evidence project catalyzes collective action among philanthropies, public funding agencies, and a diverse array of leaders in government, academia, and civil society that are needed to close the gap between research and real-world impact. The projectxe2x80x99s platforms convene these diverse groups to reimagine how research can contribute to addressing longstanding societal challenges ranging from climate change to health disparities to economic inequity and beyond.Position OverviewReporting to the principal officer, the senior associate supports the evidence project to manage the efforts of a global, cross-sectoral evidence forum. This forum regularly convenes innovators whose leading-edge strategies enable research to support solutions in policy, practice, and community settings. The flagship biennial conference helps identify urgent challenges, match creative approaches to needed resources, and coordinate key actors to propel impactful initiatives. The senior associate works closely with the principal officer to help lead outreach and engagement, plan and execute convenings and activities, support strategy development, and track impact for the forum. The senior associate also works with colleagues across the team and Pew to support cross-team and institutional coordination, including with the funder forum the project also leads.The position is located in Pew's Washington, DC, office, and will participate in Pewxe2x80x99s core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of each week.Responsibilities

  • Foster a work environment that is diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible and in line with Pew and the projectxe2x80x99s related goals.
  • Work closely with the principal officer to design and manage the activities of the global, cross-sector forum, conduct outreach and engage with key partners, support strategic planning, and track impact.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of forum convenings and events, including logistics, agenda development, invitations, securing speakers and experts, and preparing meeting materials.
  • Draft compelling messaging, written outputs, social media posts, and conference presentations and identify outreach outlets.
  • Support the principal officer in identifying opportunities for increased coordination across forum activities.
  • Liaise with Pewxe2x80x99s operational departments including communications, government relations, legal affairs, conference and events services, and other colleagues.
  • Identify and vet potential contractors and consultants for forum efforts, evaluate proposals, monitor progress, and ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the contract's objectives.
  • Participate in activities that support program and Pew-wide objectives.
Requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills, including synthesizing large sets of information, identifying key themes, and recommending next steps.
  • Skilled at informing and influencing internal and external audiences through written and oral communications.
  • Aptitude to think strategically and creatively, adjust to changing circumstances, remain attentive to details, and exercise sound judgment in problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated time- and project-management skills, including a capacity to meet multiple deadlines by maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Works as part of a team, fosters consensus, and collaborates with diverse partners to advance pragmatic solutions.
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Generally, four years of applicable experience.

  • Experience executing different kinds of convenings (e.g., small to large).

  • Aptitude to apply a non-partisan, evidence-based approach to projects and campaigns that require support across the political spectrum.
TravelThis position requires some domestic and international travel for meetings and conferences.Work AuthorizationCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the country for which they are seeking employment without visa sponsorship.Salary Range $79,900 USD - $89,300 USDThe salary range represents a reasonable estimate of the annual salary based on Pewxe2x80x99s commitment to provide equitable and market-competitive pay.
