Chemonics\' Asia Business Unit (BU) is conducting a recruitment for a Senior Associate, New Business. The Asia BU has thirteen active projects in nine countries and a range of technical areas including: energy, rule of law, environmental and natural resource management, agriculture and livelihoods development, private sector development, tourism, and greater social inclusion to promote broad-based economic growth in the region. The exact portfolio assignment will be made at time of hire. This role requires on-site work in our Washington, DC office location as part of our hybrid, flexible work structure. Position Overview:

The new business senior associate provides advanced support to the new business strategy and development efforts in a specific business unit (BU) or company-wide. Participates in progressively advanced proposal team roles and shares internal and external knowledge with other proposal teams. Supports proposal preparation, pre-proposal data collection, proposal development, and submission for government business development proposals. Reviews proposal documents to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications and requirements, and conformance to master agreements. Responds to inquiries regarding proposal obligations and revisions.

Responsibilities:

Market Strategy Development and Portfolio Management

  • Participates on proposal teams, supports new business team during live proposal meetings through notetaking and ensuring the team has necessary resources, performs proposal quality assurance, and facilitates proposal team debriefs.
  • Attends internal and external events and conferences to collect information and network.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates new business orientation for new employees, including demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the new business team\xe2\x80\x99s functions.
  • Regularly checks relevant external information sources, such as SAM.gov and Grants.gov, for updates, keeps internal trackers and ensures files are up to date, and shares timely information with the new business team.
  • May contribute dedicated time to other workstreams and functions to achieve BU goals, including operations, project management, and technical practice contributions.
Technical
  • Attends technical practice meetings to share knowledge regarding the status of solicitations and capture relevant technical information to relay back to the new business team.
New Business Development
  • Assists new business recruitment efforts for expatriate and local staff, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, checking references, collecting employment verification documentation, and determining finalists.
  • Recruits and provides logistical support to new business consultants, including collecting biodata verification information, drafting agreements, coordinating travel logistics, tracking level of effort and payments, and submitting payment requests.
  • Participates on proposal teams in specific roles of increasing complexity, including, but not limited to, past performance reviews, corporate capabilities, resume formatting, expatriate and local recruitment, coordinator, section writer, cost volume, and managing communications and agreements with potential and selected subaward partners.
  • Provides mentorship as appropriate to BU staff in new business roles and best practices.
  • Supports BU operations team to properly resource new business teams within and outside of the BU.
  • Manages administration of new business consultants, including timesheet management and processing payments for consultants
  • Serves as acting new business manager and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant administrative or professional work experience, including 1 year of contractual, procurement, project management, or related experience.
  • Experience with data entry, filing, cataloguing, retrieving, and preserving records preferred.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications; strong cross-culture communication and sensitivity skills.
  • Demonstrated experience multitasking with attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience following standard practices and procedures, receiving general instruction and supervision, and contributing to projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Works independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Language proficiency for assigned geographic area preferred.
  • Previous experience working in international development and/or living or conducting volunteer work in developing countries a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
  • Willingness to travel for up to 8 weeks per year.
