We are seeking a Senior Clinical Scientist I, Product Safety to join our R&I Safety Evaluation team in our Clark, NJ Research facility. This role is responsible for providing scientific and technical leadership in the clinical safety evaluation area.

As a Senior Clinical Scientist I, Product Safety in our R&I Safety Evaluation team, your main responsibilities are:

• Manage the Clinical Safety Evaluation function for a category of products (e.g., Skin, Hair, or Make-up).
• Work closely with raw material toxicology and formulation groups, external Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), other support functions within Central R & I and our French counterparts to provide appropriate safety support, regulatory compliance and/or claim substantiation for finished products.
• Provide scientific leadership to all aspects of clinical study design including protocol development, adherence to GCP standards (where applicable), statistical analysis and report generation.
• Review clinical safety testing protocols and provide input to the overall safety risk assessment and clinical testing strategy.
• Actively participate in harmonization of test protocols and safety evaluation strategy for finished products between the US Group and Worldwide Safety Evaluation Department in France.
• Develop SOPs and/or position documents to support/defend the clinical testing strategy.
• Mentoring Junior Clinical Research professionals in auditing, monitoring, and managing clinical studies and/or in-vitro testing.

To Succeed in this Position, You Have:

• A completed bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a scientific discipline is required
• 5 to 7 years of experience in a clinical contract research organization is required
• Good understanding of skin biology relating to irritation, sensitization, and photo-induced reactions as well as a basic understanding of immunology and ocular irritation/toxicity.
• Familiar with latest scientific literature on key developments in skin and hair research as it relates to Clinical studies and current cosmetic industry practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with bio-statistical methods
