The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) function for The Cigna Group is responsible for the development and execution of the enterprise\xe2\x80\x99s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategies involving engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to shape and advance the company\xe2\x80\x99s policies, practices and programs.The Senior Director of DEI is a strategic leader and expert in DEI who will spearhead the integration of DEI principles into the fabric of The Cigna Group\xe2\x80\x99s business objections and talent strategies. This role involves leading a team of DEI business partners, collaborating with senior management, and working closely with all internal functions and business groups to develop, implement, and monitor impactful DEI strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DEI concepts, a proven track record in organizational change, and the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage and mentor a team of DEI business partners, providing direction and support in their partnership with business units.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy in alignment with the organization\'s mission, values, and business objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and key stakeholders on DEI matters, ensuring DEI principles are considered in decision-making processes.
  • Conduct thorough DEI assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and measure progress against DEI goals.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of DEI training and development programs tailored to the needs of the organization and its diverse workforce.
  • Foster an inclusive culture by initiating and supporting community-building and engagement initiatives for the team and the enterprise.
  • Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to track the effectiveness of DEI initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of DEI trends, research, and best practices to inform strategies and initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to address systemic inequities and promote equity and inclusion across the organization.
  • Manage internal and external DEI communications, highlighting the organization\xe2\x80\x99s commitments, achievements, and learning journey.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Sociology, or a related field & an advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCDP, CDP) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a DEI leadership role, with a demonstrated ability to implement and scale DEI initiatives in complex organizations.
  • Expert knowledge of DEI principles, strategies, best practices, and a deep understanding of social justice issues.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of professionals.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience utilizing data to inform strategies and measure impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and influencing change at all organizational levels.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
