About the Position:

The Senior Director of Career Pathways (SDCP) is a member of the Club Services administrative team. This position requires an unwavering commitment to the overall mission and vision of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro (BGCP) and service to young people. The necessary skills required for this position include an uncompromised dedication to safety, staff and a commitment to success through responsible fiscal, personnel, and program operations. The SDCP reports to the Vice President of Programs and works collaboratively with the Senior Club Services team to create and successfully execute high quality Club experiences and programming. This position\xe2\x80\x99s goal is to create, implement, and execute high-quality programming focused on middle and high school members, building key skills, awareness, and access to navigate post-secondary pathways after graduation successfully.

Position Responsibilities:

The SDCP is responsible for overseeing all teen programming, applicable grants, and career pathways initiatives at BGCA and BGCP.

• The SDCP partners with Club Directors, Program Managers, and staff in teen programs to ensure all BGCP teens have access to high-quality career pathways programming opportunities.

• The SDCP is responsible for ensuring high quality, culturally responsive activities and programs are offered daily in accordance with the overall Club Services strategies and goals identified annually and, in the organization\xe2\x80\x99s long-term strategic plan.

• In collaboration with the VP of Programs, the SDCP is responsible for the planning, assessing, monitoring and supporting, and the overall implementation of the strategic direction of Career Pathways programming and priorities.

• This position is responsible for successful management, reporting and stewardship of career pathways specific government and non-government grants.

• The SDCP is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the annual local Youth of the Year event and bi-annual Oregon State Youth of the Year event.

• The SDCP helps to support with task and duties that support the BGCP\xe2\x80\x99s alumni network.

• The SDCP is dedicated to collective impact and is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with families, education partners, local school districts, public officials, community leaders and donors. Through these partnerships, the SDCP is responsible for designing and implementing innovative and high-impact services and programming for our teens.

• The SDCP models inclusive, trauma-informed leadership with a constant focus on supporting, engaging, and meeting the needs of the youth and the communities we serve.

• The SDCP cultivates and leads a collective dedication to first-class training, and development of career pathways representing best practices in staff satisfaction, retention and advancement. This position is responsible for meeting identified impact and outcome goals through practices of assessments and monitoring and reporting on program success through various data management tools.

• The SDCP is responsible for instituting a culture of safety, high quality experiences for staff and youth, stewardship, trust and transparency.

• This position is responsible for creating and modeling a practice of proactive channels of open communication across all areas of the organization, building and sustaining a culture of transparency, empowerment and inclusion.

Position Requirements:

The Senior Director Career Pathways must have demonstrated trauma informed care experience leading and administrating in a youth development environment to include: * Proven leadership skills in mentoring and inspiring staff to achieve personal and professional goals

• A visionary with proven skills to engage and enroll diverse staff in collective strategic direction
• A proven teacher with the skills to mentor staff, empowering them to lead and apply sound, creative problem-solving techniques
• Instituting proven and responsible management practices around staffing plans, budgets, program goals, behavior management, crisis and managing confidential situations
• Demonstrated cultural competencies and proficiency by effectively communicating and collaborating with persons from various cultural backgrounds, ethnic groups, and races
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven track record of positive relationship building among all stakeholder groups
• Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and facilitate programming and workshops for middle and high school aged youth.
• Demonstrated leadership in planning, organization, initiative and successfully leading teams to accomplish collective goals
• Creating and modeling a respectful, team-oriented culture
• Proven experience, knowledge and practice of continuing education in the field of youth development
• Leadership experience in program operations including program development; setting and analyzing outcome measurements through responsible data management
• Experience with or understanding of communities in which BGCP operates and the specific barriers and challenges faced within the communities we serve
• Proven commitment to first-class customer service and response to all stakeholder groups
• A strong communicator to internal and external audiences, established practices of written and oral communication to stakeholders
• Strong ability to manage and support volunteers and volunteer events related to department and position.
• Proficiency in computer use, Microsoft Office Suite software applications, Google Drive.
• Ability to travel between locations and attend meeting that are outside of regular operating hours
• Current drivers\xe2\x80\x99 license and able to drive Club vehicles, including 15 passenger vans.

Skills/Knowledge Preferred: * BA or BS from an accredited college/university preferred

• A minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in successful teen programs, teen workforce development, and management positions required

Working Conditions:

• (a)Travel up to 10-50% based on position.
• (b)Physical/Sensory Demands: Fast-paced working environment. Extensive computer usage and online engagement. Must be willing to build inclusive relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization and external partners.
• (b.1.) occasional lifting (30 pounds), carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking, and sitting, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. High volume of work and strict adherence to workload may be stressful.
• (c) Special Provisions: Occasional work outside of normal business hours, such as weekends and evenings required.
