job summary:
Our client, a Fortune 250 aerospace and automitive manufacturer is seeking an experience electronics design engineer to join their Holly Springs team!

You will be doing board level design, schematic entry, design of mobile motor control equipment, embedded microcontrollers, microprocessors, DSP, high speed interfaces, digital circuit design, power electronic and analog design, FPGA (VHDL), product specifications, formal design specifications and reviews, driver level embedded software, C programming.

responsibilities:

• Design real-time microcontroller and/or digital signal processor based products

• Design power stages for brushless DC motor control targeted at mobile applications

• Schematic entry and component selection of motion control equipment

• Guide circuit board layout to agency and manufacturability requirements

• Write embedded software for prototype bring up and verification

• Research, develop, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems

• Oversee engineering life cycle of hardware products including architecture, design, and implementation

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have:

• First rate communication and presentation skills including specification writing

• Ability to source lowest cost components that meet design requirements

• Knowledge of agency compliance requirements (UL, CE, etc)

• Ability to present high quality formal "design reviews"

• Background in creating quality schematics

• Experience with design simulation and modeling tools

• Experience with low level embedded firmware development

• 5+ years of engineering design experience

• Ability to handle multiple projects at one time

• A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, Masters degree is beneficial

• Experience with power electronics and motion control systems

• Experience with CAN based communication interfaces (J1939, CANOpen)
