This position is for a Flight Software Engineer and Functional Verification Tester in the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Flight Software (FSW) Factory. The OPIR FSW Factory is responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing on-board Flight Software for the US Space Force\'s most critical missions. This includes maintenance activities for Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) satellites and development for Next Generation Geostationary (NGG) satellite systems. Development, testing, and verification of this software occurs in a dynamic, agile environment. The Factory is divided into multiple Agile Scrum teams handling different portions of the flight software development.
This position will perform embedded software development and create Functional Verification Tests.
This position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance, but there is no clearance requirement to start.

Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated examples of developing in C++ in an embedded runtime environment
- Demonstrated examples of developing in Python in a professional setting
-Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience performing Software testing activities (unit tests, integration tests, verification tests)
- Experience developing Spacecraft Bus Flight Software
- Experience developing Perl
- Experience leading technical teams
- Experience with Gitlab CI and Docker
- Passion for technical leadership
- Experience developing Functional Verification Tests
- Experience with Guidance, Navigation and Control

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $98,800 - $186,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate\'s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
