Job Summary

As a Senior IT Specialist, you will be a part of a dynamic team where you will use your expertise to provide technical leadership and vision for software applications. In this senior role, you will also provide technical strategy and design, coordinate projects and tasks, plan and organize developmental work and ensure quality software deliverables. As a leader on this team, you will grow, mentor and mature critical skills of the software development departments and teams. You will play a vital role in leading the evolution of company-level best practices, standards and policies as it relates to software development as well as bridge the gap between technical and business teams, focusing on the big picture of meeting business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and vision for software solutions, technical strategy and design, coordination of projects and tasks, planning and organization of developmental work, and ensuring quality software deliverables.
• Designs effective application recovery strategies, approaches to track and monitor the health of software systems, and vision for minimizing/preventing functional and technical software issues across multiple environments and platforms.
• Grows, mentors, and matures critical skills of the software development departments/teams.
• Provides timely, effective resolution of software problems, questions, and additional assignments.
• Leads the evolution of company-level best practices, standards, and policies as it relates to software development.
• Acts as a liaison between technical and business teams, focusing on the big picture to meet business requirements.

Qualifications

• College degree required. Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Technology preferred with 6-10 years of IT experience (in at least two of the skills listed below while demonstrating advanced expertise in the skills.). Or, must have 6-10 years of significant experience and expertise in the Alfa business and technical software systems, with recognition as an Alfa subject matter expert and leader exhibiting maturity in development language skills (listed or not) that are necessary for Alfa.
• Familiarity with insurance products, product models, data analysis, rating concepts, and a general knowledge of basic business functions performed within software products.
• Strong background in .NET/.NET Core/C# and related technologies (ASP, MVC, Blazor, JavaScript, AngularJS, React, Vue.js, Bootstrap, jQuery, HTML, XML, JSON, Web Services, Entity Framework, LINQ, SQL Server).

This position will allow for remote work in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, & Virginia. Applicant may be required to travel to Montgomery, AL corporate headquarters at supervisor\'s request for meetings and/or training sessions.
