The Role

The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for shift planning, resource management, contingency planning, staff training, management of logistics, and program operations oversight reporting to the Program Manager. This person will be responsible for the day to day operations of a program located in a Lumen facility. The Deputy PM will be responsible for staffing as well as managing a team of personnel required to support the dedicated program. In the event of an outage or emergency, the Deputy PM will also oversee the personnel recall program and be responsible for ensuring both the required deliverable reports and ad hoc After Action Reports are compiled and disseminated at the required intervals. A high level of knowledge in network deployment operations and logistics as applied to the federal government is essential. The Main Responsibilities

  • Act as initial escalation point for customer initiated requests
  • Ensure that the facility has the appropriate personnel in place to support customer initiated requests
  • Integral member of a dedicated team providing critical program milestone reviews and CDRLs
  • Lead the effort to develop and/or finalize the Concept of Operations document and the Operation & Maintenance plan document.
  • Provide reports to the customer regarding project status and customer initiated requests
  • Staff the Operations Team to meet the contract requirements
  • Will execute after hours customer initiated requests in the event that the personnel recall program is not fulfilled
  • Work with project staff to assure that all requirements have been satisfied in the project deliverables as specified in the statement of work

  • Experience: 7+ yrs
  • Education Level: Bachelor\'s Degree
  • Field Of Study: Business, Telecommunications, IT or similar
  • A combination of education and experience is acceptable: Yes
  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
  • 5-10 yrs experience with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
  • Experience with federal government contract processes, procedures, and RFP responses
  • Successfully managed personnel to meet customer requirements and expectations
  • Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain experience necessary
  • Track record of delivery for complex technical projects within scope, schedule, cost, and objectives in the federal space
  • Solid people skills with direct federal government customer contact experience
  • Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities
  • Multitasking skills with a high attention to detail
  • Proven leadership, management and teamwork skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communications skills
This position is the primary customer contact point for operations and escalations. The ideal candidate will be able to represent both Classified and Unclassified projects, collect feedback from internal Lumen PMO team and provide feedback and updates to ensure contract and SLA compliance. Knowledge of industry best practices relating to equipment procurement, deployment and tracking.
