POSITION TITLESenior Manager, Life ProjectionsLOCATIONThis position is available to hybrid or in-office candidates in Richmond or Lynchburg, VA, or remote applicants residing in states/locations under Eastern or Central Standard Time: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC, Vermont, West Virginia or Wisconsin.YOUR ROLEAs the Life Projections Production Leader, you will be responsible for managing the completion of key projection processes for the Traditional and Universal Life blocks of business. You will manage timelines and deliverables, collaborate across the team to implement model changes in projection models, and analyze and explain results to key stakeholders. You will also support initiatives across the team to improve analytics and provide insightful information to better understand our business.What You Will Be Doing
  • Oversight of annual financial reporting processes including Statutory Cash Flow Testing and Actuarial Guideline 38 8C/D requirements, as well as GAAP projections to support margin testing and forecasts.
  • Own AXIS and ALFA projection models and support model governance activities
  • Support regulatory requests and exams
  • Support the annual assumption review process through the evaluation of impacts related to potential assumption changes
  • Support quarterly and annual company forecasting processes
  • Support inforce analytic and special project initiatives across the Life team
  • Manage small team of associates as well as supervise work completed by offshore contractors
  • Evaluate current processes and recommend/execute improvements to drive efficiencies
  • Understand the products, reinsurance, and regulations applicable to the Life blocks of business
Must Have/What You Bring
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or ASA with commensurate experience
  • 7+ years relevant actuarial experience
  • Knowledge of life insurance products
  • Experience with and knowledge of GAAP, Statutory and Tax financial reporting requirements
  • Experience in actuarial systems (AXIS or ALFA) and MS-Office software
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner
  • Team player with strong technical skills who works well with others in a professional environment

ADDITIONALThe base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $147,000 up to the maximum of $200,000. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 25% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization
