Key Responsibilities:

The Menu Planning team oversees the entire menu development process from ideation to implementation. In addition to choosing which items will fly, there is a significant level of organization and project management required to own the menu development life cycle. The Senior Manager will drive the planning, implementation, and management for United\xe2\x80\x99s food and beverage complimentary portfolio, including crew and special meals. This individual is a key decision maker for all complimentary onboard food and beverage for all cabins and routes globally. Food and beverage are key drivers in the customer experience and impact all passengers who fly with us. This role is both challenging and rewarding and requires a strategic and detail-oriented approach. Proactive communication and agile problem-solving skills are required.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible selecting and handling the successful implementation of all complimentary onboard products

\xc2\xb7 Works with external partners to develop, track, and implement menu design for Polaris, Domestic First, Premium Transcon, United Express, Economy/International Economy, Hawaii, Latin/Caribbean/Canada

\xc2\xb7 Develop detailed scope documents outlining current and future state menus; includes specific guidelines and metrics for success including objective, cost, and food and beverage satisfaction impact

\xc2\xb7 Maintains all documentation pertaining to complimentary menus including, but not limited to menu grids, Chef\xe2\x80\x99s Tips, AirVision, as well as print and digital menu content

\xc2\xb7 Oversight of administrative functions pertaining to scheduling and menu development and deployment (AirVision)

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for hosting Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews with key vendor partners

\xc2\xb7 Documents and tracks action plans as needed through Service Level Agreements

This is a hybrid position and will be in the office 50% of the time in Chicago at Willis Tower. This position also is expected to travel up to 15% of the time (approximately 4 days per month).

Qualifications

What\xe2\x80\x99s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree (Culinary Arts, Food Service Operations, Hospitality, or related business function) or 4 years of related work experience

\xc2\xb7 5+ years\' airline catering or culinary experience

\xc2\xb7 3+ years\' project management experience

\xc2\xb7 3+ years\' people and team management experience

\xc2\xb7 3+ years\' vendor management experience

\xc2\xb7 Deep understanding of measurement and metrics for customer satisfaction in the food and beverage space

\xc2\xb7 Strong project planning, management, and execution skills with large, complex programs

\xc2\xb7 Excellent organization skills and detail oriented

\xc2\xb7 Strong written and verbal skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong executive presence

\xc2\xb7 Risk assessment

\xc2\xb7 Team development and leadership

\xc2\xb7 Business process improvement

\xc2\xb7 Complex planning and critical thinking
