Who are we looking for?

GHD is looking for an expert Sr. Marine Structural Engineer to join our Maritime and Coastal (M&C) practice located in Concord, CA. As a Senior Marine Structural Engineer, you will primarily provide technical leadership and overview on several projects in California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and the Pacific (West Region), as well as provide Business Development support and lead Quality Control reviews. Responsibilities:

• Perform as marine structure design technical lead on projects, organizing and supervising project staff to coordinate optimal technical designs, multidisciplinary staff interfaces, and deliver projects in line with best practices and client objectives.
• Perform as a lead Quality Control reviewer for marine structure design ensuring that projects performed by others meet best practices and client objectives.
• Mentor less experienced staff on technical issues and methods, including one-on-one discussions and companywide technical presentations. Be available for technical and professional discussion with staff on projects across the company.
• Provide business development support, including attendance at conferences, meetings, and assistance in developing project proposal scope, fee, schedule, and interviews.

Qualifications:

• 20 years\' experience in consulting engineering with 15 years\' experience in nearshore design of marine structures, including subject matter expertise in seismic design, mooring, berthing, field assessment, production drawing and detailed design, construction support, MOTEMS Audit team lead, as well as project management and business development.
• Proficient in Engineering software packages including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Excel VBA, SAP2000, XTRACT, AutoCAD, Inventor (3D design tool), LPile, APile, GROUP, Mathcad, etc.
• Involvement in, and/or awareness of technical committees not limited to:

• ASCE COPRI 61 - Seismic Design of Piers and Wharves
• ASCE COPRI Pier and Wharves Design Standard
• ASCE COPRI Rehabilitation Manual
• PIANC WG225 - Seismic Design of Guidelines for Port Structures
• ASCE COPRI Post Earthquake Reconnaissance

Salary Range- $162,000-$243,000 based on experience
