Job Description


This Senior Paralegal role provides an exciting opportunity to join the care delivery legal team within Evernorth\xe2\x80\x99s Legal and Corporate Affairs department. This role will primarily support the care delivery legal team in all areas related to health care law. Specifically, this individual will partner with internal counsel, work independently, and oversee various facets involved in commercial, managed care, and provider contracting, corporate governance, and legal project management.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing and executing templates, agreements and other legal documents
  • Manage state registrations for various entities and prepare, store and track corporate governance documents
  • Serve as project manager for various legal department initiatives and projects and perform other assignments as requested
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a contract management system
  • Serve as a primary liaison between in-house legal counsel, cross-functional business, and legal partners, as well as external third parties (e.g., vendors and external law firms)
  • Special projects or additional responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and certificate in paralegal studies
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience as a paralegal
  • Corporate law and/or health care law experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a capacity supporting an in-house legal department is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/project management skills
  • An ownership mentality, exceptional follow-through skills, flexibility in embracing frequent change in all forms
  • Demonstrated initiative, independent thinker, and worker
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, carry out multiple related activities simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Must be team-oriented and able to share information, identify opportunities and make justifiable recommendations
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
