Urgent Temp to Hire Opportunity for a Senior Payroll Accountant in Bethesda, MD! Hybrid work schedule, 4 days onsite for training, then 3 days onsite.

Costpoint or GCS Premier system required.

responsibilities:

• Review timesheet posting, labor distribution and payroll submission.
• Responsible for maintaining corporate payroll records.
• Registering all tax related for a new state as needed.
• Preparing payroll and reports for federal, state, and local agencies when required.
• Ensuring Payroll and tax documents are accurate.
• Providing payment and filing of FICA, Federal and State taxes biweekly and monthly.
• Filing monthly, quarterly and yearly payroll tax returns in manual and electronic format.
• Transferring 401 (k) and other benefit information electronically to benefit administrator.
• Creating financial management reports relating to payroll and labor distributions.
• Preparing annual W-2 wage statements and federal and state filings.
• Reconciling 941s and other balance sheet accounts as needed.
• Ability to resolve payroll discrepancies by collection and analyzing information.
• Preparing annual audit schedules.

qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or related field with 10+ years progressive experience working in a Payroll department.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws.
• Hands-on experience with Deltek CostPoint & Time & Expense
• Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office applications and Acrobat Adobe.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum 10 years\' experience processing payroll for a company with more than 250 employees.
• Federal government contracting experience preferred.
• Willing to commute onsite for 4 days per week.
