Are you a creative and strategic product marketer with an interest in the future of cloud platforms? The Azure data team is seeking an exceptional marketer to drive customer acquisition and growth of our cloud database businesses. In this role you will join a team known for driving strategy, end-to-end execution, having an \xe2\x80\x9cowner\xe2\x80\x9d mindset, and driving collaboration with a diverse array of stakeholders around the world.

Apps are critical to our work and personal lives, as are the data that power them. Developers have adopted a variety of database technologies to address the evolving requirements of modern, cloud-native apps and have formed online and offline communities around these technologies. This role will focus on engaging existing technical audiences and communities to build awareness, trial, and acquisition for Azure databases.

In addition to Microsoft\xe2\x80\x99s own databases like SQL and Azure Cosmos DB, Azure offers managed services that support popular open-source databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Apache Cassandra \xe2\x80\x93 all of which are used to build and power modern, cloud-native, and intelligent apps. Future growth of the Azure Data business depends on reaching and engaging developer communities and database evangelists and increasing their use of Azure database services to build AI-powered and cloud-native, intelligent applications.

The Senior Product Marketing Manager - Azure Data Community will lead worldwide growth strategies, and deliver high-impact experiential, content, influencer, and partner marketing programs that increase awareness and adoption of Azure database services by SQL fans and open-source database enthusiasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute marketing programs to drive awareness, trial, and customer acquisition for Azure database services by SQL enthusiasts and open-source database communities
  • Develop growth strategies for Azure Data among 3rd-party and open-source database communities, across paid, owned, and earned channels
  • Engage existing SQL enthusiast communities around cloud-native app development, and the exploration of the Azure data portfolio of services.
  • Build deep understanding of technical audiences and existing Azure Data customers, and their engagement with 3rd-party and community events and organisations
  • Create partner co-marketing planning and execution with key partners and open-source organizations including Redis, Redhat, Intel, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL.
  • Grow the SQL technical fanbase and drive lead-generation, trial, and use acquisition for the Azure SQL family of services
  • Collaborate with engineering, product marketing, PR, and media teams on event sponsorship, influencer engagement, and content marketing opportunities
  • Lead end-to-end marketing planning and execution for key events including PASS Summit, SQL Bits, and PostgreSQL Conf, and acting as lead Microsoft contact with event producers, community liaisons, agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Establish measurement and analytics framework; monitor, refine, and report top metrics and KPIs
In this role, the Senior Product Marketing Manager can expect to develop:
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders from across the organization
  • Knowledge of the product release cadence and experience working in tandem with engineering and core product marketing managers to land new product features and scenarios with customers at key events.
  • Experience interpreting product usage and financial data to identify customer trends.

Drives initiatives and programs across teams to improve and meet organizational goals. Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in B2B product marketing, product management, or relevant management consulting experience
  • OR Master\'s Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in B2B product marketing, product management, or relevant management consulting experience
  • OR equivalent experience
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in B2B product marketing, product management, or relevant management consulting experience
  • OR Master\'s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience experience in B2B product marketing, product management, or relevant management consulting experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in marketing, online communities, or experiential/event marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to create clarity around complex business challenges, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and communicate results to an executive audience
  • Successful history of driving digital marketing efforts to achieve business outcomes
  • Experience using data to measure marketing effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
  • Attention to detail, with a high bar for quality deliverables (written and presentations)
  • Track record of working with a diverse set of stakeholders to execute complex projects.
  • Cross-functional project management and cross team collaboration skills
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
