Applications to be submitted by April 02, 2025Compensation Grade: P25Compensation Details: Minimum: $91,922.00 - Maximum: $91,922.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) CCH - Bureau of Communicable Disease Control:ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Program Coordinator will work in the Respiratory Surveillance Unit within the Quality Improvement and Performance Management Program of the Bureau of Communicable Disease Control. The Senior Program Coordinator will oversee the coordination of and coordinate surveillance of viral illnesses in children, including but not limited to Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), Kawasaki disease, reports of pediatric deaths related to viral illness, and other emerging viral diseases. Surveillance activities include overseeing the review of medical charts to identify cases meeting defined criteria, enrolling and retaining pediatric providers for geographic coverage, and developing and delivering provider education. The Senior Program Coordinator will be a key point of contact and serve as a subject matter expert for communicating with providers about data reporting timelines and completeness, oversee the follow-up on non-reporting providers, encourage year-round reporting and specimen submission, and provide programmatic feedback. Additionally, the Senior Program Coordinator will supervise staff.Minimum QualificationsA Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in a related field and four years of program coordination experience in a public health, health, or human services-related program or community-based organization; OR an Associatexe2x80x99s degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. The experience must have been contributing toward the development, implementation and/or evaluation of a program, project or other related activities. A Masterxe2x80x99s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management.Preferred QualificationsCurrent license as a registered professional nurse in NYS and four or more yearsxe2x80x99 experience in communicable disease epidemiology and surveillance in a public health setting. Experience with communicable disease epidemiology, surveillance and/or outbreak investigation/response/follow-up activities and NYS reportable communicable disease systems. Experience with medical chart review and interpretation. Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including experience with public speaking and preparation of documents and reports. Experience creating educational materials and providing trainings. Demonstrated excellent organizational and analytic skills.Conditions of EmploymentGrant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
