Overview

The Senior Advisor, Field Public Affairs will manage crises in real time, identify evolving and emerging stakeholder expectations to partner with External Affairs and provide counsel to Operators and senior business leaders on how to manage those changing expectations. This role requires the ability to manage complex issues with a nuanced approach. The role will work with the media relations team, stakeholders, and business leaders.

The role serves as the trusted advisor to Operators and a strategic member of each Area Support Team (AST) by providing timely, tailored solutions to address the evolving, unique reputation challenges and opportunities of each Area across Chick-fil-A. The Advisor is a unique role, tasked with consulting both to markets within each Area, as well as consulting to local Operators across each Area.

In addition, this role will utilize research and analytics to identify the issues important to Operators and represent them appropriately to both internal and external partners. This role will provide proactive public relations and reputation counsel including identifying and fueling the right stories that will positively influence Chick-fil-A\xe2\x80\x99s reputation, and reactive support for real time issues in the field.

This role will need to do all the above for Operators in our West Region including Hawaii, as well as our growing restaurant base in Puerto Rico. This role will have experience and an intimate understanding of the Hispanic Community in both the U.S. and Puerto Rico. They will serve as the Multicultural lead on the team and represent the Field Public Affairs Team working closely with the Brand PR Multicultural Advisor.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $182,000 to $192,000. This pay scale takes into account a wide range of business factors and may change over time.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively coach and advise Operators, business leaders and others on emerging issues and how to manage them.
  • Build personal relationships with Operators and field staff and Operators in the West Region and Puerto Rico specifically.
  • Manage a complex and multi-faceted portfolio of reputation issues.
  • When assigned an issue that comes into the PR Hotline, immediately assess, engage and follow-up on the assignment.
  • Partner with Media Relations team to request and review any external communications needed.
  • Ensure PR Hotline requests are handled by internal or agency partners in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Initiate and cultivate collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
  • Represent the Corporate Communications and External Affairs department in internal Area Support Teams for the West Region and for Puerto Rico to create awareness and support of the goals/objectives of individual teams within the department.
  • Develop Reputation Impact Plans for priority markets outlining challenges/opportunities for each market and work with internal teams like Reputation Comms to execute on those plans.
  • Support the New Restaurant Opening Team with reputation challenges prior to a restaurant opening.
  • Serve as an accessible, accurate and trusted advisor to internal partners by identifying and sharing key insights that inform their work.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with assigned priority markets that results in proactive, strategic support.
  • Help create strategies to manage public events like city council hearings, industry discussions, restaurant giving events.
  • Identify opportunities to share metrics and learnings within organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Issues management and external stakeholder engagement experience required.
  • Cultural and language fluency with Hispanic Market.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Chick-fil-A restaurant operations and Inc. support.
  • Bi or multi-lingual
