Distinguishing Characteristics:
The Senior Services Program Assistant series of classes are characterized by their responsibility to perform subprofessional technical work in support of program specialists and involves planning, organizing, and coordinating the implementation of one or a combination of the County\'s programs for the elderly. The nature of the work involved does not require the full application of professional level knowledge, philosophy, theories, and practices.
This class differs from the Senior Services Program Assistant II in that the Senior Services Program Assistant III is responsible for assistant in county-wide planning and has district responsibilities for organizing and coordinating the implementation of program activities; whereas the Senior Services Program Assistant II is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all program activities for a small participant group where social and recreational program activities and nutrition program services resources are limited, e.g., islands of Molokai and Lanai.
Examples of Duties
The following are examples of duties and are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in this class.
