This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: City Hall, 632 West 6th Avenue
Example of Duties
Control and coordinate the development, testing and operational support of MOA Applications. The role will include responsibilities for the development, alteration, enhancement, maintenance, monitoring, leadership, and support of municipal computer systems/applications for the assigned area of responsibility. This includes: leading on projects and release management, assessing/analyzing the nature/cause of program/processing failures and implementation of corrective action; preparation and update of system and user documentation; assist customers in the effective use of assigned systems; provides input and advises the Application Services Supervisor on planning, development, implementation for systems and applications in their assigned area of responsibility; coordination of necessary testing to certify system changes, fixes, patches, and upgrades to assigned systems are operational and meet customer business needs; assists the Application Services Supervisor in ensuring conformance with contract requirements, project documentation, and smooth transition to program/system maintenance staff. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED or equivalent and nine (9) years of experience in the field related to the position.
OR
Associate\'s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar discipline and seven (7) years of experience in the field related to the position.
OR
Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or similar discipline and five (5) years of experience in the field related to the position.
OR
Master\'s degree in a related field may substitute for the required non-specialized experience on a year-for-year basis.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver\'s license at time of hire with a satisfactory driving record at the time of hire.
Satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background within 30 days of hire.
